JOIN THE HYPERLOCAL NEWS REVOLUTION
Set up a mobile-first publishing business on your patch
Hyperlocal Today is building a network of mobile-first hyperlocal news websites, dedicated to publishing quality local news journalism in a modern, lean, smart and sustainable way.
We’re recruiting entrepreneurial journalists across the country who want to build a website and a business on their terms, on the patch they know best.
We’ll set you up with everything you need, including website, hosting, branding, training, social media accounts and technical support.
All you need is a laptop, smartphone and enough time in your schedule to be able to commit to at least 10 hours a week.
See your future site in action
This is a proven model. Altrincham Today, the first site in the Hyperlocal Today network, has been running for over a year now and is already the leading online local news publisher on its patch.
Altrincham Today attracts over 80,000 unique visitors a month and has built a highly engaged social media community of over 13,000 people – on Twitter and Facebook – considerably more than far more established and better-resourced publishers in the area.
Hyperlocal Today sites are perfectly positioned to exploit the opportunities presented by the decline of print and the mobile revolution.
A ready-to-go lifestyle business
Your site can quickly become the leading news hub on your patch, and therefore a valuable advertising opportunity for local businesses.
A Hyperlocal Today license comes equipped with advice on how to monetise your website using display advertising, sponsored content, job listings and other potential income streams.
What’s certain is that the potential of hyperlocal news as a revenue generator is huge, and even if you have no experience on the commercial side, you’ll be given plenty of support in order to quickly ensure you are being rewarded for your efforts.
